What Is A Lash Lift? Results, Process & More!

Lash lifts are dominating the lash game this year and it's no surprise, this low-maintenance, high-impact treatment is proving to be a great alternative to Lash Extensions and your everyday Mascara. So what is a lash lift & how long does it last? Although the results look enchanting, there is no magic wand involved! Essentially, a lash lift is a perm for your lashes, paired with a tint to deliver definition from root to tip that can last up to 6-8 weeks with the proper aftercare!

Is a Lash Lift worth it?

Is the sky blue? YES - it's totally worth it and you should be prepared for an onslaught of compliments! Not only does it completely remove the hassle of eye make-up (that is of course assuming you don't also wear mascara with your lash lift - you totally can btw), it gives you longer, thicker-looking lashes without the maintenance that other lash treatments require.

The Process

The treatment kicks off with a consultation, as the therapist will assess & measure your natural lashes and determine the best lash shield to use. Our lash shields come in various sizes and curl intensities as some people prefer to get more length than curl. Your eye area will be thoroughly cleaned, removing any residual eye make-up and oils. We do recommend arriving at your treatment with no eye make-up on.

Underneath your eyes are prepped and the silicone shield is placed on top of your eyelid. You can sit back and relax for the next 45 minutes whilst your therapist moulds your lashes to the shield with adhesive (your eyes will be closed for the remainder of the treatment). The lifting lotion is then applied, followed by a setting lotion, this is what cements the semi-permanent curl you see in the before & after pictures. A tint is applied, followed by a nourishing treatment to bring moisture back to your lashes.

Do Lash Lifts Ruin Your Lashes?

No, the brands we use are safely formulated, our Yuu Lash Lift Curl & Tint is hypoallergenic which means you only need a patch test for the tint. However, just like the hair on your head, tinting and perming isn't the best thing for your lashes however, it will not ruin your lashes if you get the treatment in moderation. The 6-8 week gap between appointments means by the time you come in for your next appointment, you will have some new lash growth. We always recommend using a nourishing lash treatment at home. Aftercare

Can you still wear mascara with a lash lift? YES, however, we advise you to AVOID waterproof mascara & to hold off applying mascara for the first 24hrs after treatment. The mascara can weigh down the lashes and affect the curl - we don't want that right?!

Other aftercare tips:

• Do NOT get your lashes wet, near steam or sweat for at least 24hrs after your appointment.
• Avoid oil-based make-up removers.
• Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie to keep them fluffy & tangle-free.
• Use a nourishing lash serum daily, we stock the Nouveau Lashes Conditioning Serum or you can use castor oil, which is great for keeping them strong.
